Who came up with this idea? And why would anyone give away that which was given to them?

If someone has a need to regift, they definitely are receiving far more than they need during the season, and if they weren't so selfish in accepting everything they could get, they could just ask that a donation to a charity in their name be made. And thus eliminating the need to regift...

If someone I had taken the time to choose a specific gift had regifted the gift, I'd give them a card the following years, but never again a gift. My time is valuable (with working two jobs and spending much time on the Internet), and if the person I gave the gift to does not appreciate that fact; they don't deserve another...
